The new opus, Precious Oud, pays homage to the mysterious note.
Aquilaria – an Asian or Indian tree that reveals its scent only through the infection of the tree by a fungus. Along with frankincense and myrrh, the aromatic, magical oud resin, primarily sounding with woody and balsamic chords, gives an earthy, leathery accent to the fragrance. Oud or Agarwood is a rare, expensive wood, highly valued in perfumery.
The creator of the fragrance was Amandine Marie (whose teacher was Michel Almairac). The new fragrance is a tribute to nature, whose motifs are used in the luxurious jewelry pieces of the brand. Filled with sparkling happiness, Van Cleef and Arpels' jewelry often repeats motifs of nature, recreated by the skilled hands of true artists. Amandine Marie looked at the note of Oud wood from the angle of floral chords.
The top notes of the fragrance are filled with the sparkling sound of bergamot, complemented by pink pepper, which is a harbinger of the fragrance's tonality, filled with luxurious frankincense. The heart is represented by a lively bouquet of the most beautiful flowers, intertwined with the most beautiful flowers: sensual jasmine and tuberose. As the queen of perfumery is already taken, tuberose becomes the empress, thanks to its enchanting, divine, intoxicating scent. This is followed by the woody note of patchouli, after which unfolds a rich, precious base, enveloping the mythical note of Oud wood, woody notes of sandalwood and vetiver, as well as amber accords.
Being a fragrance with character, it paves the way for new inspiration, absolutely free from prejudice, it creates a world where only the most noble and valuable materials are given place, and the fundamental value is exclusivity.
